Anthropic Launches Claude Science for AI-Powered Research
Anthropic unveiled Claude Science at its 'The Briefing: AI for Science' event, positioning the product as a specialized workbench for researchers rather than a new AI model. The platform integrates with existing Claude subscriptions (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise) and centralizes access to 60+ scientific databases spanning genomics, proteomics, and cheminformatics.
The system employs a primary AI assistant that spawns sub-agents for niche tasks, while a dedicated reviewer agent scrutinizes citations and calculations—a partial safeguard against AI-generated inaccuracies. Notably, all outputs include an auditable history trail, though verification remains constrained by the underlying model's limitations.
